Anticancer medicines are life saving drugs as they used in caner treatment. But many anticancer drugs are carcinogenic and genotoxins in nature. So special precautions are taken while handling of anticancer medicines.

Proper Handling should be important for all manufacturer, distributers, and consumers of anticancer medicines.

Few years ago I had visit one manufacturing company named Affy group, they involved in anticancer tablets manufacturing in India, and they take all the necessary precautions while handling of Anti-cancer medicines.

Precautions to be taken while handling of Anticancer medicines

• Kindly read your prescription very carefully, specially the name and dose of medication.
• Kindly store anticancer drugs as per instructions given on packaging label.
• Use of gloves are very necessary while handling of anticancer medicine, Kindly wash your hands before and after use of gloves. Do not wear torn gloves.
• Medicines should be administered as per instruction.
• Prepare a list of side effects, if observed immediate contact to health professional.
• In case of overdose, Kindly report immediately.
• Kindly wash your clothes and bedsheets separately.
• Flush twice, after use of toilets.
• Avoid exposure of medicines in open areas.
• Avoid exposure of medicines in food and drinking areas.
• Avoid medicines to be discard to toilet or thrown to garbage.
• Kindly reduce your presence in public places.
• Keep the medicines out of sight and reach of the children.
• Kindly keep your prescription safe to you, don’t share it to anyone.
